The year 2020 is a fantastic opportunity to remind everyone in the UK about the impact of sight loss, to celebrate work undertaken both to eradicate avoidable sight loss and to support those living with vision impairment.

From 17th-21st of August, the RSBC worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) to deliver fantastic music workshops to our young people. The Theme of the workshops was Hopes and Dreams, and the young people worked virtually with RPO musicians, including a double bass player, a trombonist, a clarinet player, and a violinist.

Employability Plus is a three year project, funded by Erasmus +,  that brought partners from Germany, Spain and UK (Q-Prints & Service, Fundacion Emplea and RSBC) together to research and address the barriers for disabled and disadvantaged young people getting into work.

Meet Selam, she is mum to five-year-old Isaac. Despite his age, Isaac has already faced huge challenges battling Retinoblastoma, a type of eye cancer. He makes his mum proud every day.

Ethan’s mum Bhavna describes her son as “cheeky, chatty and kind hearted.” He adores cars, particularly go-carting and all things techy.
