RSBC’s Life Without Limits Centre (LWLC) is changing the lives of blind and partially sighted children and young people and their families.

We moved into the LWLC in 2022. Located near London Bridge, this innovative and unique new Centre realises our dream to deliver a dedicated space where a world of possibilities is opened up. World-leading architects EPR Architects transformed a previously unused lower ground floor into an inclusive, vibrant and engaging space, which includes a media suite, a creative suite, a learning hub with accessible technology, an accessible kitchen, small meeting spaces for one-to-one support, and a large flexible space for group activities.

The LWLC has hosted countless events, classes and sessions, and it’s made an incredible impact on everyone who uses our services.

Media suite

The suite has state of the art technology, enabling young people to record podcasts and create other digital content.

Creative suite

Our Creative Suite is a space designed for vision impaired children and young people to sing and dance, get crafty, learn new instruments, and showcase their talents.

Learning hub

RSBC’s Learning Hub has the latest technology to enable young people to engage in workshops, study, learn and take part in our Assistive Technology sessions.

Kitchen

Our fully accessible kitchen has been designed for vision impaired people to navigate easily and use kitchen equipment safely. We hold cooking sessions here which are also live-streamed using the Centre’s technology, meaning young people can ‘Cook-Along’ from home too.

The LWLC also hosts dedicated modern office space for the RSBC’s team

Julie Davis, our CEO, said on the LWLC’s two-year anniversary: “RSBC is delighted to celebrate two years since we opened this fabulous, purpose-built space. It really has been a game-changer for us. The Life Without Limits Centre has helped to transform how we deliver our services to the children, young people, and families we support. It’s provided the accessible safe space and range of facilities we needed to be able to widen our scope of activities and act as a thriving hub for our national portfolio of work.

“RSBC’s two-year anniversary at the LWLC is a significant milestone for our charity, but we remain focused on continuing to grow and excel. Children are at the heart of all we do, and they’re the reason we’ll continue to work tirelessly to utilise our facilities here to the full in the coming months and years”.
