RSBC Trustee completes steps challenge
April 14, 2021
One of RSBC’s fantastic Trustees walked 450,000 steps in April 2021 to raise funds for the charity.
John Miller fundraised through the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers, where he was the former Clerk, and who named RSBC their 2020-21 charity of the year after over 70 years of amazing support.
The Cordwainers are raising funds in support of the RSBC’s new Life Without Limits Centre (LWLC) – the charity’s hub which will open later this year and from which the charity will provide support to blind and partially sighted children, young people and their families.
John marked the partnership by taking on a post-lockdown steps challenge.
“I am extremely honoured to be a Trustee for RSBC and proud that we are Cordwainers’ charity of the year. As part of my role, I see first-hand the impact RSBC makes in its work with vision impaired children and young people,” says John.
“Like a lot of people, I found myself less active during the recent lockdown and colder months. I wanted to set a steps challenge (333,333 steps) to get fitter and raise funds for RSBC. I ended up on 450,000 steps (175 miles) and very grateful to everyone who has supported me, especially those who have made a donation however small.”
John set a £1,500 fundraising target for his April walking challenge and marched past that, so far raising an incredible £4,500. You can still donate via his JustGiving page.
Congratulations, John!
