Celebrate Volunteer Week: Get Involved!
May 17, 2024
Celebrate “Volunteer Week” from the 3rd to the 9th of June by joining the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) as a volunteer fundraiser and make a positive impact on the lives of blind and partially sighted children, young people, and their families. Volunteer fundraisers play a crucial role in raising funds to support our organisation’s efforts towards a life without limits.
This volunteer opportunity offers flexibility, allowing you to support our cause either online or in person in your local community. We encourage you to reach out to your friends, families, and communities, and get creative with your fundraising ideas. Whether it’s hosting a tea party, online raffle, silent auction or setting your challenge, there are numerous ways to make an impact.
Fundraising ideas
Virtual Auction
Host a virtual auction with donated items from local businesses, organisations, or individuals. Promote the auction on social media and invite people to bid on the items.
Crowdfunding Campaign
Launch a crowdfunding campaign on social media to raise funds for Volunteer Week. Encourage people to donate and share the campaign with their friends and family.
Online Raffle
Organise an online raffle with donated prizes. Promote the raffle on social media and sell tickets online.
Bake or Plant Sale
Host a virtual bake sale where people can order baked goods online, and you can deliver them to their doorstep or sell plants outside your house that you have grown in your garden. Encourage people to donate more than the cost of both to raise funds.
Online Talent Show
Host an online talent show where people can upload videos of their performances. Charge a small entry fee, and the audience can vote for their favourite performance.
Virtual Quiz Night
Host a virtual quiz night with entry fees.
Online Silent Auction
Host an online silent auction with donated items from local businesses, organisations, or individuals. People can bid on the items on the website.
Set Your Own Challenge
Consider personal challenges like bike rides, runs, and more.
We hope these ideas inspire you to create your own unique fundraising event to celebrate volunteer week. We appreciate your support and look forward to hearing about your fundraising efforts.
