RSBC has been working closely with a range of activity providers across England and Wales to ensure that they’re more inclusive to VI children and young people, so you can feel more confident about trying something new.

Below is a list of activity providers in each region who have achieved our RSBC VI Friendly and Accessible Activity Provider accreditation.

The VI-Friendly and Accessible Activity Provider kitemark

The RSBC VI Friendly and Accessible Activity Provider kitemark recognises organisations that are committed to creating inclusive and accessible environments for vision impaired (VI) individuals. It signifies that providers have undergone specialist VI awareness training, ensured their facilities and activities accommodate those with visual impairments, and actively foster an inclusive experience for all participants. This kitemark helps families and individuals identify trusted providers dedicated to supporting the VI community through thoughtful design and proactive engagement. There are three steps to achieving the kitemark:

Step 1:

Complete our questionnaire. Please note, you’ll need to have all the actions your organisation has taken to hand, and know who the training has been shared with, prior to completing the survey.

Step 2:

Our specialist training team will assess your question responses, then contact you. They may ask for more information, or they may provide you with the kitemark and the terms for use. The kitemark is valid for 2 years, after which you will need to attend refresher training and again complete the questionnaire.

Step 3:

Once your kitemark accreditation is confirmed, we’ll provide you with a logo to share to let children and families know you’re an inclusive activity provider. RSBC will also list you on our website as a VI-friendly provider by region here (link to new web-page of providers). If you have not yet attended the training, you can reserve your place here.
