Royal Society for Blind Children CEO announces retirement plans

Sue Sharp, the RSBC’s CEO has announced that she will be retiring later this year. Trustees have begun the recruitment process to appoint her successor.
Announcing her plans Sue, who was appointed CEO in April 2021 said:
“I have been privileged to be part of the Society’s journey over the last 12 years. We have taken the organisation from a regional charity to one which is now serving blind and partially sighted children, young people and their families across England and Wales. I have the honour of leading a remarkable team whose commitment and professionalism shine. To know that the work we do together is making a real difference is our motivation. I will miss the children, young people and families who have, and continue to inspire me every day. I know that the RSBC’s journey will continue apace and that we will be able to support many more children and young people affected by childhood sight loss over the coming years.”
Commenting, Patrick Plant, RSBC’s Chair of Trustees said:
“Sue has been an asset to the Society and we will be sorry to lose her. On behalf of myself and all the Trustees we wish her well for the future. We have appointed Peridot Partners to support us in the recruitment of Sue’s successor. We hope to be in a position to make an appointment by the beginning of July.”
