We are launching a nationwide Royal Art Competition in celebration of the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

The charity’s patron was Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the organisation will be creating a Coronation Collage from photos of all the competition entries.

They plan to share the collage with His Majesty The King and a copy will also be displayed at the Life Without Limits Centre (LWLC) in London.

The Art Competition is open to blind and partially sighted children young people of all ages who are being invited to share a piece of artwork which is royally themed.

Perhaps they might make a crown for His Majesty The King; draw a picture of Windsor Castle or the King himself or a sketch of Buckingham Palace. The choice is theirs.

Sue Sharp, CEO of RSBC said:

“Our Royal Art Competition is a great way for blind and partially sighted children and young people to get involved in marking this historic occasion.

“Some of the children and young people will have the opportunity to start their artwork at our Royal Family Fun Day on Wednesday 5th April at our award-winning Richard Desmond Life Without Limits Centre in London. The event runs from 11am-2pm and will feature a range of Royal themed activities.”

Places can be booked here.

Carla Rose-Hardman, Director of Services at RSBC added:

“Every week we see the creativity of blind and partially sighted children and young people across our activities. We are excited to see what they will enter for the competition. It will be lovely to put photos of their creations together in the Coronation Collage for His Majesty.”

“Four children and young people across 4 age categories will also be crowned – as winners of the competition- and each will receive a gift voucher for £50 to spend on arts and crafts.”

The age categories for RSBC’s Royal Art Competition are under 5s, 5-11 years, 12-17 years, and 18-25 years.

Entrants can send their entries to the LWLC, 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN or they email us a clear photo or scan of the artwork to connections@rsbc.org.uk. The closing date for entries is 24th April and winners will be announced on 28th April.
