RSBC Dorton College students celebrated World Braille Day
January 5, 2023
On Wednesday 4th January 2023, students at RSBC Dorton College celebrated World Braille Day at the Orpington Campus, The Walnuts, Orpington, BR6 0TE.
Students enjoyed taking part in fun activities. They played Braille Uno and learned Transport signs in braille.
Many students use Braille as their preferred way of reading and writing. Some use the Perkins brailler, which looks like a typewriter and some use the digital version called the Braille Note.

What our students say
“To just pick up a book and be able to read it is a lovely thing in life that everyone should experience. Without braille that’s never going to be accessible to students with sight loss.”
“Braille gives the students the ability to access their studies at college allowing them to be more independent learners.”
